An internationally recognized musician, composer and educator, Maestro Jose Hernandez continues to break boundaries in the world of mariachi. A fifth generation mariachi, Jose brings the pleasure of mariachi music to audiences all across the globe. He is the founder of two world-famous mariachi bands: Mariachi Sol de México® and Reyna de Los Angeles®, America’s first all-female professional mariachi ensemble.
Jose continues to work to inspire and empower the next generation of musicians through many educational initiatives including his working with all of the participants in their various class levels at the National Mariachi Workshops for Educators. |

Willie Acuna, renowned harpist for Mariachi Sol de Mexico will return again this year to offer harp classes. Sign-ups for exploratory class harp for the beginning class may be taken on Monday morning. Teachers in the Intermediate/Advanced class will have the opportunity to take an extended group lesson during the week. Individual lessons may be scheduled with Willie on a separate basis.

More information will continue to be posted as it becomes available so check back often!
This workshop is definitely worth attending. The Las Vegas Mariachi Program, implemented under the leadership of Marcia Neel, went from zero to one of the best programs in the country. Ten years ago the groups from Las Vegas were solid but quite basic. Today they are among the best in the nation. The Sweetwater School District brought Marcia in for workshops for all the mariachi instructors. I learned a great deal, even after 20 years of teaching mariachi music.
